Terms of use for downloadable resources

1. License granted

The resources identified in the current registry, currently R-01 through R-05 (see the resource registry), will be offered, once download is enabled, under the following license: Free-of-charge license (when the resource is delivered without consideration), non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable, valid for the receiving organization's internal use.

2. Permitted uses

Copying the resource internally, adapting its fields, roles, and states per project (see the technical disclaimer), and using it in the receiving organization's own projects, including producing derivative project deliverables — provided this does not amount to redistributing the file, template, or tool as a standalone product. Reference in the user's own BIM/CDE workflows is likewise permitted.

3. Prohibited uses

Resale, external redistribution, sublicensing, or public publication of the file, template, or tool —original or adapted— without SORA's express authorization; presenting the original or adapted resource as one's own tool to third parties; removal of attribution or version metadata; use to train machine-learning models without authorization.

4. Attribution and version preservation

Where reasonably applicable to the resource itself, the user must preserve attribution to SORA and the file's version number (visible in the resource's changelog) when reusing or adapting its content.

5. User's own-verification responsibility

The user is responsible for verifying that the resource's formulas, validations, roles, states, and naming are adequate for their specific project and contractual/regulatory framework before use — see the technical disclaimer for full detail.

6. Intellectual property and trademarks

SORA and its graphic elements are trademarks/trade names of SORA. These terms transfer no intellectual-property right over the resource, only a use license per section 1.

7. Availability, changes, and versions

SORA may modify, withdraw, or version any of the resources identified in the current registry at any time; each resource's change history is documented in its own changelog record.

8. Limitation of liability

The resource is offered as a support tool, "as is", with no warranty of fitness for a specific project (see also section 5, user's own-verification responsibility).

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SORA shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for loss of profits, revenue, opportunities, information, or data arising from the use or inability to use the resource. SORA shall likewise not be liable for decisions made solely on the basis of the resource without the corresponding technical and professional verification. SORA's total cumulative liability for direct damages related to a resource shall not exceed the greater of the amount actually paid for that resource and MXN $5,000.00. This limitation does not apply to liability arising from fraud or willful misconduct, to mandatory legal provisions, to non-waivable rights, or to liabilities that cannot be legally excluded or limited.

9. Data and communications related to the request

When a download-request mechanism exists, data collected in that flow will be governed by the applicable privacy notice. No download-request mechanism is connected today.

10. Jurisdiction

Country / jurisdiction: México (Estados Unidos Mexicanos) · Applicable law: Applicable federal laws of the United Mexican States; for personal data protection, the Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties — the official Spanish name prevails) currently in force. · Competent courts: For contractual disputes related to resource use, the competent courts of the Estado de México, without limiting non-waivable rights, administrative competencies, or legally applicable protection mechanisms.

This clause is limited to contractual disputes over resource use. It does not submit to these courts any administrative dispute, claim before an authority, or access, rectification, cancellation, or objection (ARCO-type) right related to personal data — those proceedings are governed by their own applicable statute and authority (see the privacy notice).
